The new cinema, situated on the second floor of what is believed to be the largest mall in the state, has a capacity of 1785 seats will be equipped with two digital halls to cater to the increasing demand for digital 3D movies.
Prior to its opening, the cinema will be screening free movies for five consecutive days (14-18 May 2011) as part of its test run.

The movies that will be screened include
"Gulliver's Travel", "Rio", "I Am Number Four", "The Tourist", "Green Hornet", "World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles", "Beastly", "Cun", "Hantu Kak Limah", "Khurafat", "Endhiran", "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", "I Love Hong Kong" and "Great Day".

It is learned that there are freebies and fanfare from May 19 to May 22 and the public will have photo opportunity with movie characters such as Po from "Kung Fu Panda", "Thor" and also "Captain America".
AEON Bandaraya Melaka Shopping Centre was completed in November 2009 and was initially scheduled to open for public on 17 December 2009. However, a major fatal explosion incident at the mall has caused the opening to be deferred to 5 February 2010.
The other two cinemas in Melaka are MBO Melaka Mall and Lotus Five Star Mahkota Parade.
